If you ask for a native woman in a restaurant in Benin, you will get the Béninoise. This is what the name refers to. The beer is the only local beer produced amongst the international beers like Guinness and Flag. The small country at the African west coast produces only 0,61% of the African overall production (2004), and the number has been falling the last couple of years. Therefore the beer is quite difficult to get hold of. Fortunately it is placed on the shelves in my collection:-)
